<br />
I took the time to refinish my gas tank straps. Basically just wire brushing the hell out of them and using a direct to metal Rustoleum paint called "Hammered" it leaves a very durable coat and a textured finish as you can see below. Most of my suspension components are painted with this.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mnygnu_PXl0/UWxATsRq-hI/AAAAAAAAV3I/o7PYWzwuSBM/s1600/IMG_9876.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-mnygnu_PXl0/UWxATsRq-hI/AAAAAAAAV3I/o7PYWzwuSBM/s640/IMG_9876.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
the rubber insulators were shot so i had to create new ones. to buy them retail at Black Dragon or MSA was about $30. Garage door weather stripping is about $7.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SlW9B37sUQA/UWxAVLh-1nI/AAAAAAAAV3c/w7Qypr0uqnE/s1600/IMG_9878.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-SlW9B37sUQA/UWxAVLh-1nI/AAAAAAAAV3c/w7Qypr0uqnE/s640/IMG_9878.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
this particular weather stripping had some nice ribs running down the center to add that extra level of insulation between the two metals. Perfect fit.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3baa6fSbO18/UWxAV6xM08I/AAAAAAAAV3k/BzrIRr1eVHA/s1600/IMG_9879.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-3baa6fSbO18/UWxAV6xM08I/AAAAAAAAV3k/BzrIRr1eVHA/s640/IMG_9879.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
I used the amazing goop to adhere the strips to the straps.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CbTmSQS2DZ0/UWxAXfAp_xI/AAAAAAAAV30/dupkJGVIz90/s1600/IMG_9881.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CbTmSQS2DZ0/UWxAXfAp_xI/AAAAAAAAV30/dupkJGVIz90/s640/IMG_9881.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_pO6hZTdG2o/UWxAYTMn6BI/AAAAAAAAV38/j0vumpCotKM/s1600/IMG_9882.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-_pO6hZTdG2o/UWxAYTMn6BI/AAAAAAAAV38/j0vumpCotKM/s640/IMG_9882.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Voila!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--8QAB8zsDwI/UWxAZCnlRgI/AAAAAAAAV4E/dcekdnrYLkg/s1600/IMG_9883.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/--8QAB8zsDwI/UWxAZCnlRgI/AAAAAAAAV4E/dcekdnrYLkg/s640/IMG_9883.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7bBCdJiEYKw/UWxAc-X-koI/AAAAAAAAV4s/MaHpIdev-cA/s1600/IMG_9888.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-7bBCdJiEYKw/UWxAc-X-koI/AAAAAAAAV4s/MaHpIdev-cA/s640/IMG_9888.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
Then I mocked up the tank and had Emily take a pic to see where the fuel lines were going to be so i could get the proper length hose and all the correct fittings.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o995rGy8zak/UWxAfdLD0OI/AAAAAAAAV5E/HHkgvXoVJZY/s1600/IMG_9891.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-o995rGy8zak/UWxAfdLD0OI/AAAAAAAAV5E/HHkgvXoVJZY/s640/IMG_9891.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Tank installed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IQ4lBwtUz2U/UWxAlA0xJaI/AAAAAAAAV58/0p3dmq97CRk/s1600/IMG_9898.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-IQ4lBwtUz2U/UWxAlA0xJaI/AAAAAAAAV58/0p3dmq97CRk/s640/IMG_9898.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A good friend told me that I should install all of the hydraulics before the motor. So refinishing and replacing all of that is my next step. These hardlines and junctions are all still good so I am going to refinish and reuse them.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D_QCQKtl5d8/UWxAmzaONdI/AAAAAAAAV6M/YSuc5s3jroQ/s1600/IMG_9900.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-D_QCQKtl5d8/UWxAmzaONdI/AAAAAAAAV6M/YSuc5s3jroQ/s640/IMG_9900.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
I bought a new brake booster too from RockAuto. It came unpainted so I gave it a few coats of that hammered DTM paint I have been using everywhere.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sjEOSBewZg8/UWxA8o1l-bI/AAAAAAAAV6U/NT4Z0AYXq1Q/s1600/IMG_9901.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-sjEOSBewZg8/UWxA8o1l-bI/AAAAAAAAV6U/NT4Z0AYXq1Q/s640/IMG_9901.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
This needs a little refinishing also. Wirebrush time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7aY1hE6-TWQ/UWxA9iC3KXI/AAAAAAAAV6c/vWxnk25FJLw/s1600/IMG_9902.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-7aY1hE6-TWQ/UWxA9iC3KXI/AAAAAAAAV6c/vWxnk25FJLw/s640/IMG_9902.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Primary junction post wirebrush.<br />
I hit the hardlines with a coat of paint too right after I took this pic.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9sks8PW3IbQ/UWxA-QmRCwI/AAAAAAAAV6k/y_Zm97aFdpI/s1600/IMG_9903.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-9sks8PW3IbQ/UWxA-QmRCwI/AAAAAAAAV6k/y_Zm97aFdpI/s640/IMG_9903.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
My stock hardware had rubber gaskets in between them and the firewall. I had no interest in using the OEM pieces for this so I picked up some rubber repair sheets at Home Depot and made my own gaskets for everything. These were 6"x6" rubber sheets and came in a pack of three.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JqJM2F91No0/UWxA_0p5xLI/AAAAAAAAV60/IbEquq2w7Pc/s1600/IMG_9905.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JqJM2F91No0/UWxA_0p5xLI/AAAAAAAAV60/IbEquq2w7Pc/s640/IMG_9905.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
Since I was installing the brake booster, I had to install the pedal box because they all bolt up together. I also had to hook up the pedals to the actuating shafts for the booster and the clutch master.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J315Ag_UbNk/UWxBBf35PJI/AAAAAAAAV7E/9V86kmlxxog/s1600/IMG_9907.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-J315Ag_UbNk/UWxBBf35PJI/AAAAAAAAV7E/9V86kmlxxog/s640/IMG_9907.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
The clutch master got a little gasket action also. Installed w/o lines.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-93gDQ-T6LRM/UWxBH8AQNeI/AAAAAAAAV8E/DlALL7-kaY0/s1600/IMG_9915.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-93gDQ-T6LRM/UWxBH8AQNeI/AAAAAAAAV8E/DlALL7-kaY0/s640/IMG_9915.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
Little paint goes a long way. I made sure not to get any paint inside the junctions.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-egLLX0AQizc/UWxBJt3gVmI/AAAAAAAAV8U/gjnFlnBR7AA/s1600/IMG_9917.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-egLLX0AQizc/UWxBJt3gVmI/AAAAAAAAV8U/gjnFlnBR7AA/s640/IMG_9917.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Installed with hardlines and refinished. Not too shabby. Still have to run the front lines. (This is done but I don't have a pic yet.)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XLCQDKdTGNY/UWxBMCpKJ7I/AAAAAAAAV8s/oFPRNIbqSZ4/s1600/IMG_9920.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-XLCQDKdTGNY/UWxBMCpKJ7I/AAAAAAAAV8s/oFPRNIbqSZ4/s640/IMG_9920.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Also took this awesome pic of my fuel pump installed. i think i am going to reconfigure it so it doesn't hang so low. I made a thick rubber pad in between the pump hanger and the frame so hopefully that will help insulate the noise from this pump. I got the Carter P4070 which is low pressure (4-6 psi) and high volume (72gph free flow).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-omGjPWF0dH4/UWxBLbUam_I/AAAAAAAAV8k/V-QUUOqvfCc/s1600/IMG_9919.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-omGjPWF0dH4/UWxBLbUam_I/AAAAAAAAV8k/V-QUUOqvfCc/s640/IMG_9919.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
All brake lines are run now to all corners. I have to get a better pic of how the engine bay looks with the hardlines all properly run. I also took some time to wash the car so its not so dusty from the paint shop.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KDcfAMnDh6Q/UWxBN4a7gAI/AAAAAAAAV88/670jDdzzRv0/s1600/IMG_9922.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-KDcfAMnDh6Q/UWxBN4a7gAI/AAAAAAAAV88/670jDdzzRv0/s640/IMG_9922.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
More pics to come soon.</div>

Hey Guys, got a massive update here from all the work done over the weekend. Try to keep up! :)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
First thing I did was press the old bushings out of my mustache bar. My hydraulic press made short work of this.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ogxA1AD9kdc/UWHO5HoXbQI/AAAAAAAAVs0/E-ZdYPT_jnk/s1600/IMG_9829.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-ogxA1AD9kdc/UWHO5HoXbQI/AAAAAAAAVs0/E-ZdYPT_jnk/s640/IMG_9829.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JiINQBZfhH8/UWHO6GddtwI/AAAAAAAAVs8/GZICFwZ2ILA/s1600/IMG_9830.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JiINQBZfhH8/UWHO6GddtwI/AAAAAAAAVs8/GZICFwZ2ILA/s640/IMG_9830.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gBdHqpQvOKg/UWHO77OhcZI/AAAAAAAAVtM/2sUhnqbY7Zk/s1600/IMG_9832.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-gBdHqpQvOKg/UWHO77OhcZI/AAAAAAAAVtM/2sUhnqbY7Zk/s640/IMG_9832.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Also decided to finish painting the engine. Starting with the oil pan.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mLi50JpEAWY/UWHO8piPKkI/AAAAAAAAVtU/PSZbVTugSJ4/s1600/IMG_9833.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-mLi50JpEAWY/UWHO8piPKkI/AAAAAAAAVtU/PSZbVTugSJ4/s640/IMG_9833.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
While I was letting that dry a bit I located all of the hardware for the rear-end. This is where all of that pain staking bagging and labeling becomes the difference between re-assembling your car, and selling your unfinished project on craigslist. Critical move.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dym8sjAYJ6E/UWHPA7RVgfI/AAAAAAAAVt8/ImsENJzGtEE/s1600/IMG_9838.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-dym8sjAYJ6E/UWHPA7RVgfI/AAAAAAAAVt8/ImsENJzGtEE/s640/IMG_9838.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
This book on restoring your Z car proved to be an amazing resource too for locating parts and their proper place and use. You would be surprised at how tough it can be to figure out what stuff is.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-omvCqXAtZb8/UWHPBXRRbnI/AAAAAAAAVuE/BB-VV-WUaW8/s1600/IMG_9839.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-omvCqXAtZb8/UWHPBXRRbnI/AAAAAAAAVuE/BB-VV-WUaW8/s640/IMG_9839.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
For example, what on god's green earth is this thing?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9sYeW7WBBQ/UWHO_coQnMI/AAAAAAAAVts/W57ObQpisZI/s1600/IMG_9836.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Q9sYeW7WBBQ/UWHO_coQnMI/AAAAAAAAVts/W57ObQpisZI/s640/IMG_9836.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I ended up learning that this is a block of metal that bolts to the bottom of the diff mount. WHO KNEW!??!?<br />
<br />
<br />
Moving on, I ran through all of my remaining Energy Suspension bushings to find the ones that I still have left to replace. One of the most significant steering/handling upgrades is actually this rubber hockey puck in the steering shaft. This is the old one.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w_axhY5TFDQ/UWHPDdYc4UI/AAAAAAAAVuY/UidabFdqP6Y/s1600/IMG_9841.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-w_axhY5TFDQ/UWHPDdYc4UI/AAAAAAAAVuY/UidabFdqP6Y/s640/IMG_9841.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
See the difference? The rubber one in the car was so flexible I could bend it easily with my fingers. The new urethane one was WAY stiffer.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nHBc48cG_jk/UWHPFK9_nZI/AAAAAAAAVuk/ceKcIKuJR10/s1600/IMG_9843.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nHBc48cG_jk/UWHPFK9_nZI/AAAAAAAAVuk/ceKcIKuJR10/s640/IMG_9843.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dOu8pdecscc/UWHPFz5YLTI/AAAAAAAAVus/3dwVRPin_UQ/s1600/IMG_9844.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-dOu8pdecscc/UWHPFz5YLTI/AAAAAAAAVus/3dwVRPin_UQ/s640/IMG_9844.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
Installed.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vQnyEfqptt4/UWHPGoVe7OI/AAAAAAAAVu0/AyRbJvObdhU/s1600/IMG_9845.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vQnyEfqptt4/UWHPGoVe7OI/AAAAAAAAVu0/AyRbJvObdhU/s640/IMG_9845.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I wanted to get a nice finish on the valve cover so I removed it and brought it to by clean room (dirtiest room in the house), and painted it on my professional painting surface (pile of tires).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1Jy_rUPwAVU/UWHPIdLXO6I/AAAAAAAAVvE/ITQjZjdAtHg/s1600/IMG_9847.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-1Jy_rUPwAVU/UWHPIdLXO6I/AAAAAAAAVvE/ITQjZjdAtHg/s640/IMG_9847.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
Taking my sweet time yielded some decent results. On or two small runs but I wont tell you where they are. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GMinWgpJoDo/UWHPJBuVSQI/AAAAAAAAVvM/KKszqbjcW-0/s1600/IMG_9848.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-GMinWgpJoDo/UWHPJBuVSQI/AAAAAAAAVvM/KKszqbjcW-0/s640/IMG_9848.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Also painted the rest of the motor silver. Since i have to strip the mating surfaces because I forgot to tape off the motor before I primed it, I decided to just go ahead and finish and clean it up once.<br />

Thanks Nelson!<br />
<br />
Then it was time to visit the original 240z Motor.<br />
I need the starter and tranny off of it because the tranny that came with the L28 is trashed.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Not perfect but a Major improvement. The rest of that is baked on and I'm not going to bother removing it.<br />
I let it soak for a half hour so that stuff isn't coming off without a chisel.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
Also got all of my fuel system parts together and started mocking them up to make sure everything is going to fit.<br />

<br />
Very excited for the next steps! Drive train should be coming together soon!<br />
<br />
<br />Alex Straffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14952718760760619155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5172791112092623054.post-46606710730877191922013-04-03T22:43:00.002-04:002013-04-03T22:43:33.615-04:00Optimus PrimerSo I decided to do a simple silver and black motor. Black Valve cover and oil pan and silver block and head. All of the other stuff is going to be silver and black including all of my AN fittings so i guess that works out ok.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Dty80AcaoqQ/UVznhSKnjPI/AAAAAAAAVq4/v0HCgZqjtHE/s1600/IMG_9826.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Dty80AcaoqQ/UVznhSKnjPI/AAAAAAAAVq4/v0HCgZqjtHE/s640/IMG_9826.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I had to hit up Autozone for some high temp primer. The VHT stuff in the middle is the primer. Decent build quality too after spraying it down. High temp Rustoleum black left over from painting my Diff (silver and black) and this duplicolor silver that i had kicking around.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZeTsHCM7Zs/UVzngW5TnuI/AAAAAAAAVqs/jGYTnTmfV6Y/s1600/IMG_9825.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-ZZeTsHCM7Zs/UVzngW5TnuI/AAAAAAAAVqs/jGYTnTmfV6Y/s640/IMG_9825.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Almost makes me wish I was going to paint it some wild splatter paint or something but either way its looking clean.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YI1jZSOSJIU/UVznh7UUXsI/AAAAAAAAVq8/aCocSgy2NqE/s1600/IMG_9827.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-YI1jZSOSJIU/UVznh7UUXsI/AAAAAAAAVq8/aCocSgy2NqE/s640/IMG_9827.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Heads up tomorrow, color is going down.<br />
<br />

<br />
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Cl3c_NU9Uw4/UVuC2nujUSI/AAAAAAAAVow/kgir-TiEOBk/s1600/IMG_9803.JPG" imageanchor="1"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-Cl3c_NU9Uw4/UVuC2nujUSI/AAAAAAAAVow/kgir-TiEOBk/s640/IMG_9803.JPG" width="426" /></a><br />
<br />
<br />
So I pulled out all of my parts and started going through everything to see what I have that I can reuse and what I need to replace. I have stocked up on a lot of parts lately and will post those later. Those of you who follow me on facebook already know that I went a little crazy. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-378NWxoJ-Hg/UVuC44gNzBI/AAAAAAAAVow/vPY9NpK-L8o/s1600/IMG_9806.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-378NWxoJ-Hg/UVuC44gNzBI/AAAAAAAAVow/vPY9NpK-L8o/s640/IMG_9806.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I bought a pressure washer from Harbor freight this past weekend and started washing all the grime off of everything i could find. As you can see I started with the motor. I am going to be tossing a coat of engine paint on this too so feel free to shoot me a color suggestion.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ymBxecgXoj8/UVuC5tfJuII/AAAAAAAAVow/ine23c5ATxs/s1600/IMG_9807.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-ymBxecgXoj8/UVuC5tfJuII/AAAAAAAAVow/ine23c5ATxs/s640/IMG_9807.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Nice and clean (sorta)!<br />
What else can I clean with this thing?<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PASN15ZiTx0/UVuC7qYVRKI/AAAAAAAAVow/Skme64WJ35g/s1600/IMG_9810.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-PASN15ZiTx0/UVuC7qYVRKI/AAAAAAAAVow/Skme64WJ35g/s640/IMG_9810.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Yuck!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H5VC5RyQL70/UVuC9MFaLCI/AAAAAAAAVow/V1-oZerTWSc/s1600/IMG_9812.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-H5VC5RyQL70/UVuC9MFaLCI/AAAAAAAAVow/V1-oZerTWSc/s640/IMG_9812.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Much better.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WlcKYrdT_o0/UVuC6_SwKII/AAAAAAAAVow/XHGRSxPyGGs/s1600/IMG_9809.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-WlcKYrdT_o0/UVuC6_SwKII/AAAAAAAAVow/XHGRSxPyGGs/s640/IMG_9809.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Also pressure washed the oil pan.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2k77ma7HYUQ/UVuC-Jkh4aI/AAAAAAAAVow/c8x4_keQcGk/s1600/IMG_9813.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-2k77ma7HYUQ/UVuC-Jkh4aI/AAAAAAAAVow/c8x4_keQcGk/s640/IMG_9813.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Now with all of this new found motivation I decided to also finish building the motor.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nPLMznlCodo/UVuC-3DeWAI/AAAAAAAAVow/3CTai5AKssw/s1600/IMG_9814.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-nPLMznlCodo/UVuC-3DeWAI/AAAAAAAAVow/3CTai5AKssw/s640/IMG_9814.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Cleaned up the gasket surface with some wax/grease remover.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CNhSNy3GsTA/UVuDBtTUe_I/AAAAAAAAVow/GglEBFG0cg4/s1600/IMG_9818.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-CNhSNy3GsTA/UVuDBtTUe_I/AAAAAAAAVow/GglEBFG0cg4/s640/IMG_9818.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x6qkgS-7qSY/UVuDCgK1jfI/AAAAAAAAVow/ar03y0Qgwc4/s1600/IMG_9819.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-x6qkgS-7qSY/UVuDCgK1jfI/AAAAAAAAVow/ar03y0Qgwc4/s640/IMG_9819.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
When installing the oil pan you have to use sealant where the block meets the rear end cap and the front cover.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LwCky3ZsJHo/UVuDDvSjgvI/AAAAAAAAVow/Xm-H7-b6Iok/s1600/IMG_9820.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LwCky3ZsJHo/UVuDDvSjgvI/AAAAAAAAVow/Xm-H7-b6Iok/s640/IMG_9820.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
When installing the oil pan gasket it is easiest to put it on the oil pan and place screws in the holes to hold the gasket in place. The gasket I got was stretchy so it needed to stretch a bit to fit properly.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-r6jZJ7O8NMI/UVuDEW2TovI/AAAAAAAAVow/jGRXVeYIg2Y/s1600/IMG_9821.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-r6jZJ7O8NMI/UVuDEW2TovI/AAAAAAAAVow/jGRXVeYIg2Y/s640/IMG_9821.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Flipped the oil pan onto the motor and started screwing the bolts in place in a cross pattern making sure that they are all torqued to the German official torque specification (guttentyte).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OC_44p13IQc/UVuDGLst4cI/AAAAAAAAVow/U39XEGcExgg/s1600/IMG_9823.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-OC_44p13IQc/UVuDGLst4cI/AAAAAAAAVow/U39XEGcExgg/s640/IMG_9823.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
Then its time to clean up the pan with a stiff metal brush and some wax/grease remover. Once it dries it will be ready to treat the rust, and paint it with a rust inhibiting high temperature paint. Not going for perfect here, just gotta get this hunk of shit on the road. :)<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vc43GzNaCwk/UVuDGiev4II/AAAAAAAAVow/sZ6mZlsidtk/s1600/IMG_9824.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="426" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vc43GzNaCwk/UVuDGiev4II/AAAAAAAAVow/sZ6mZlsidtk/s640/IMG_9824.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Bam. Ready to prime with a high temperature engine primer and paint it. Right now I have silver and black engine paint and plan on using one or the other (or both) for the whole engine.<br />
<br />
I was thinking it would look great in all silver. But then I was thinking all black.........<br />
<br />
What do you guys think?<br />

I have been looking forward to this day for years.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
When I first bought the car (for those of you who don't remember) I was the happiest I have ever been. I had finally purchased my dream car.<br />
<br />
Emily and I had taken the Redline to Quincy to see the car. The guy came and picked us up from the train station in a pair of spandex shorts. I have done my fair share of shady Craigslist deals but I had all my cards on the table with this one. With no way home and about $4000 in my pocket this car was coming with me.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>

<tr><td style="font-family: arial,sans-serif; font-size: 11px; text-align: right;">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/115540762260144556473/Z?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">Z</a></td></tr>

<br />
<br />
Emily and I took these pictures before I had even left the previous owner's garage.
<br />

<br />
<div>
I will never forget the ride back to Arlington from Quincy. </div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
It was pitch black out and starting to rain. Even a perfect 240z has laughable wipers, and this Z was far from perfect. I remember laughing out loud while the wipers smeared an opaque white film of grease and water across the windshield in moving traffic. To make matters even more exciting my directional signals weren't working and I am quite sure we resorted to hanging our arms out the window to signal as if we were on a bicycle.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Somehow we managed to get Emily's dying IPhone GPS to guide us north to 93, all the while being "gas chambered" with fumes from the carbs and exhaust. I will never forget the feeling when I first hammered on the gas to get out in front of a dozen sets of headlights reeling up behind us on the highway. Bouncing in my seat to try and make the car go faster. I can't imagine what was going through Emily's head.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
High on adrenaline and gas fumes we roll into the driveway knowing full well that it was the sketchiest ride we have ever taken. But there I was. After years of searching and browsing Craigslist out west, down south, and the mid west for a clean rust free chassis to ship up here, I had found my holy grail only a stones throw from Boston.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>

Driving around in the Z that summer was the greatest. Every where we went people would be yelling out of their windows about how they used to have one just like it, or their father had one when they were growing up. </div>

<div>
At the end of the summer we started the process of buying a house. Two car garage was my only requirement. I couldn't wait to tear into this car.</div>
<div>
<br />
Not that the lack of a garage would ever stop me. :)<br />

As most of you know I had a date with a local paint shop on Monday and had to sand through 9 inches of clear coat to get the car to where it needed to be in order to be painted. During this process I found several pieces that needed further body work and did the best I could to prep for that.<br />
<br />

<br />
Thank god my buddy Mauricio came over to help. I bribed him with steaks, beer, and Malt liquor 40s.<br />

<br />
<br />
We put in about 20 man hours in two days which I think is an awful lot. But we got the car looking nice and ready for the shop. Good thing I have friends who will work for large quantities of beer and meat. :)<br />
<br />
So the day of the tow comes around and I am all nervous. Up until this point no one has ever touched my car without my direct supervision. The car has never been towed and I have never had a car towed. So the Tow guy shows up and is very nice and professional. Hooks up the car and rolls it up onto the flat bed with no issues.<br />

<br />
Once we arrive I take a quick look at the car and everything looks good. No issues, dents scratches or anything and I let out a sigh of relief.<br />
<br />
I turn to walk into the office and talk to the shop manager and I hear a bunch of yelling honking and then CRUNCH!!!!! My heart fell into my ass.<br />

I stayed up late last night figuring out how to eliminate the shiny spots on the panels and get them smoother. Every little dark spot you see is a tiny little valley that will collect metal flake from the metallic paint and will show up as a little dimple in the final paint job. Even though I have eliminated 90% of them, the last 10% still have to go.</div>

Mike wanted to see me get one headlight bucket perfect and ready for sealer/primer last night. Just to get me familiar with what exactly it should look like.</div>

My girlfriend is taking off for the cape for a few days. That means I can spend every waking minute on the car. Good thing cause I'm going to need it. This is probably the hardest I've ever worked on anything and I do not recommend that anyone ever do this ever. :)<br />
<br />

<br />
I have gone through the color in some places. And the primer in others. The car is going to be getting a complete re-spray. Sealer, color, clear. I have a bodywork expert come over tonight to inspect my progress and tell me what else needs to be done before it is ready for paint.<br />
<br />
<br />
Can't wait to just move on with this build. Start doing the fun stuff again!Alex Straffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14952718760760619155noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5172791112092623054.post-17867649492832862502012-08-02T14:26:00.001-04:002012-08-02T14:26:23.608-04:00Gettin' SmooveHey all.<br />
<br />
So I've been putting in some work lately. Mostly grunt body work but work none the less.<br />
I have finally started to address my paint situation "the right way".<br />
<br />
<br />
<table style="width: auto;"><tbody>
<tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/RVFF2EUEsL0klFTOJq1Ir9MTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img height="533" src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-wmCwVxkMXqI/UARRJZaXNtI/AAAAAAAAObo/N_VYW2VL2Ts/s800/IMG_9371.JPG" width="800" /></a></td></tr>

<br />
<div>
As I am sure you recall, I jacked the clearcoat with a vengeance.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<br />
<div>
And it seems my only hope is to sand the hell out of it.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>

<br />
<div>
Thanks to my new best friends Mike and Josh, I actually have some professional advice to go on with regards to fixing my paint situation properly. I need to sand the whole car with 400 grit paper, then again with 800 grit wet until the whole car is completely smooth with no shiny spots whatsoever.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Picked up this squirt bottle for a few bucks at WalMart.</div>
<div>

<br />
<br />
It's cool to see Bob Sharp Racing parts still in circulation. I've been on the lookout for one of the valve covers for quite some time and have never seen one for sale.<br />
<br />
This is what they look like:<br />

<br />
<br />
There is a lot of missing story between my last post and now but I think I'll leave most of it out. You will be seeing a lot more of me on here. Working on the SE-R and the Z.<br />
<br />
As all of you know the main hang up on the Z is the paint situation. Currently I am exploring options and saving up money to get it done right. I would hate to put it back together like it is and not be happy with it.<br />
<br />

</tbody></table>
<br class="Apple-interchange-newline" /><br />
<br />
Until then I will be chugging along, tooling on my daily Sentra (which is a boat load of fun), and getting things together for the Z.<br />

Please take a few moments to read this and check out the infographics as I feel that this information is something that everyone should know.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="Apple-style-span">=================================================================</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="Apple-style-span"><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: black; "><b>Protecting Yourself from Dangerous Materials in Classic Cars</b></span><span style="font-family: Times, serif; "><o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: black; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; "><span class="Apple-style-span"><span style="line-height: 10.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; ">When rebuilding classic cars, in addition to the problems of sourcing out of production parts, and wrestling with corroded bolts, mechanics need to be aware of materials that could be hazardous to their health. Asbestos was used indiscriminately throughout the American auto industry's heydays from the 1940's into the 1990's. Today we know that this man-made, fibrous compound is carcinogenic. But in the 50's, 60's and 70's, asbestos was praised, and widely used in </span><a href="http://www.mesothelioma.com/asbestos-exposure/products/brake-pads/" style="line-height: 10.5pt; "><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; ">brake pads</span></a><span><span class="Apple-style-span" ><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 10.5pt;"> and clutch plates. The fibrous, lightweight and durable material is highly heat resistant, cheap and lightweight. Its mild abrasive characteristics made it the perfect material to embed in other fibrous materials to extend the lifetime of these disposable parts.</span></span><br /><br /><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" ><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 14px;"></span></span></span></span></p><table style="width:auto;"><tbody><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/k-oznpI-Mo6N6BNyVmTD7NMTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-Vl0SEeK0TG0/TIY1PT689iI/AAAAAAAAFdA/WohV_KRKM50/s800/IMG_5494.JPG" height="800" width="534" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/alex.straffin/Z?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">Z</a></td></tr></tbody></table><span class="Apple-style-span"><span><br /><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" ><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 10.5pt;">When </span></span></span><a href="http://dirtys30.blogspot.com/2011/10/lollerskates.html" style="line-height: 10.5pt; "><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; ">working on classic cars</span></a><span style="line-height: 10.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; "> and changing out the brakes or clutch mechanisms, mechanics and car enthusiasts should protect themselves from this material. In its undisturbed form, asbestos doesn't post a threat. However, if the dust which is produced by brake and clutch pad normal use becomes airborne and inhaled, the fibers can metastasize into the lethal lung cancer Mesothelioma.<br /><br />Many adverse effects associated with </span><a href="http://www.mesothelioma.com/asbestos-exposure/occupations/auto-mechanic.htm" style="line-height: 10.5pt; "><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; ">asbestos exposure</span></a><span><span class="Apple-style-span" ><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 10.5pt;"> have been well documented. Studies of exposed workers, and family contacts of works, even those living in close proximity to asbestos mines have all demonstrated a higher risk to Mesothelioma. Therefore, when working on these parts, owners should take industry-approved precautions to protect themselves.</span></span></span></span><p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="background-image: initial; background-attachment: initial; background-origin: initial; background-clip: initial; background-color: black; background-position: initial initial; background-repeat: initial initial; "><span class="Apple-style-span"><span><span class="Apple-style-span" ><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 14px;"><br /></span></span></span></span></p><table style="width:auto;"><tbody><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/TXUNBXm8pSmcRlWJFmrHr9MTjNZETYmyPJy0liipFm0?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-yTCMx10tE-s/TMrDszRHMLI/AAAAAAAAGTY/Y0ONQ-_jo04/s800/IMG_6166.JPG" height="534" width="800" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/alex.straffin/Z?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">Z</a></td></tr></tbody></table><span class="Apple-style-span"><span><br /><br /><br /><span class="Apple-style-span" ><span class="Apple-style-span" style="line-height: 10.5pt;">When working with brakes or </span></span></span><a href="http://www.mesothelioma.com/asbestos-exposure/products/transmission-plates/" style="line-height: 10.5pt; "><span style="font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; ">clutch plates,</span></a><span style="line-height: 10.5pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; "> wear full, disposable coveralls, and protect exposed skin on your hands and neck. Workers should wear OSHA approved respirators at all times, and make sure they have the proper cartridge to protect from airborne fibers. When disassembling the mechanisms, they should wipe the assembly down a damp cloth before they start, and then wipe down each part as it's removed from the vehicle. Parts manufactured with asbestos should be disposed of properly in a closed container, labeled as a biohazard. After the affected parts are removed, spray the assembly and parts down with an appropriate degreaser or cleaning agent, and then once again wipe the parts down with a damp cloth. Allow them to dry before using.<br /><br />Once the job is complete, dispose of the paper coveralls, and immediately wash any clothing, gloves, hats or safety gear you were wearing. Your goal is to eliminate the possibility that you, or anyone you contact during the process breathe in any asbestos fibers. Although the following products do not produce as much asbestos dust, you should take similar precautions when removing old head and engine hood liners, gaskets, and valve packing. These materials were also manufactured with race amounts of asbestos during the years in question.<br /><br />Finally, you should also protect your lungs when sanding any old paint, or rusty metal surfaces. Inhaling oxidized metal or lead paint dust can also lead to serious health problems. Protect your exposed skin, wear a respirator and work in a well-ventilated, environmentally controlled workshop when dealing with any of these products.<o:p></o:p></span></span><p></p> <span class="Apple-style-span"><span class="Apple-style-span"><br /></span><br /><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/kaZ9eYRCMnQfWlMDCwu_WmVZOXQtVsJskuEzNfPwIqM?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-7euFfYHwIl8/TtT9yjpcQFI/AAAAAAAAMHk/FClZ2PF0Qcc/s800/AsbestosCars.jpg" height="775" width="800" /></a><br /><br /></span><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: rgb(51, 51, 51); font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; ">=================================================================</span></p>Alex Straffinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14952718760760619155noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5172791112092623054.post-90126061040974606102011-11-01T09:46:00.002-04:002011-11-01T09:57:22.047-04:00ZCCNE Cookout Camp Onaway 2011Well its the end of Z season in the Northeast and the Z Car Club of New England celebrates the year by having its annual cookout at Camp Onaway.<br /><br /><table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/gk0_iL0mODtgCVrGFiM8SQ?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-M50nQpYu5H8/TqGjtDwTD6I/AAAAAAAAL14/b2XVWKn4ov0/s800/IMG_8824.JPG" height="534" width="800" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/alex.straffin/ZCCNECookoutAtCampOnaway2011?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">ZCCNE Cookout at Camp Onaway 2011</a></td></tr></table><br /><br />Good turn out this year even though it was pretty cold.<br /><br /><table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/5wnNuW8QjudWrDJsBXvW1Q?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-i5IIavp_6w4/TqGjz25qjII/AAAAAAAAL2g/apGk9Ojj8tA/s800/IMG_8767.JPG" height="534" width="800" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/alex.straffin/ZCCNECookoutAtCampOnaway2011?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">ZCCNE Cookout at Camp Onaway 2011</a></td></tr></table><br /><br />Mike's Z32 300zx is stunning as ever.<br /><br /><table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/aSWihwMLq3LXSihSe2a92Q?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-AGfvt4L67BI/TqGj7HwhLxI/AAAAAAAAL3U/uYw09rKZrhE/s800/IMG_8780.JPG" height="534" width="800" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/alex.straffin/ZCCNECookoutAtCampOnaway2011?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">ZCCNE Cookout at Camp Onaway 2011</a></td></tr></table><br /><br />Mhmmm..<br /><br /><table style="width:auto;"><tr><td><a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/w6r7PQ9zGQctUDT1PLHmOw?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-2mmMHf9O-MY/TqGj6AwfwwI/AAAAAAAAL3M/iB9N3Pp3TQA/s800/IMG_8778.JPG" height="800" width="534" /></a></td></tr><tr><td style="font-family:arial,sans-serif; font-size:11px; text-align:right">From <a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/alex.straffin/ZCCNECookoutAtCampOnaway2011?authuser=0&feat=embedwebsite">ZCCNE Cookout at Camp Onaway 2011</a></td></tr></table><br /><br />My favorite car of the meet was this 1974 260z 2+2.
