Doin' Work...

Got a chance to finally start working on some things.

From Z

Got the hood off, got the battery out...

The battery tray is a repeat offender when it comes to finding rust in any S30 chassis. A little rusty but still really solid.

From Z

Fixed an oil leak I've had for a while.

From Z

Turns out my speedometer cable wasn't connected quite tight enough.

From Z

Just screwed it back on all the way by hand and the leaking stopped, as shown by my beautiful clean piece of cardboard (Left over night).

From Z

Thinking about keeping my baller, single copper zip-tied fuel line, lol jk.

From Z

Next thing I'm going to do is empty out my gas tank, drop it, and replace everything I can.

From Z

My fuel level gauge has never worked. Gotta get a replacement fuel level sending unit, and while I'm at it, clean out/replace the tank and tank mounting hardware.

Finally filled my toolbox also. Feels really good to use it for the first time.
Clean beeotch.

OS Giken TC24-B1 Returns!!!

According to Speedhunter Dino Carbonare, OS Giken is producing another limited run of the legendary Twin-cam TC24-B1 head for the L-series platform.

I'm sure the cost would be exorbitant, and even prohibitive for most. But I will do everything in my power to attain one.

OS Giken is without a doubt a member of the old-school Japanese elite, especially when it comes to Nissan/Datsun. I can't wait for further developments on this.

Thanks Dino for posting this!!!

Rocky Auto - Carbon S30 (Again)

I really don't care if anyone is sick of seeing this car.

Because I am so totally not.

Gold NA RB26 stroked to 3.0 converted to Triple carburetors, an exhaust manifold forged by the Z gods themselves AND bronze Volk TE37Vs on Semi-slicks???

There is nothing else to say.

I'm just going to get this out of my system now.

And the one-off RB30 Exhaust manifold

BYO Workbench!!!

Hey guys,

I've been dying to get a workbench into my garage since my first day in the house and today that becomes a reality.

I downloaded some free BYO Workbench plans from HammerZone.com. Cheap and Sturdy Workbench for around $20?? Yes please.

From Z

Pulled out my trusty electric drill. (No more Z car as a workbench lol)

From Z

Grabbed a pile of 2x4s. Lowe's cuts these for you and rarely charges you. Also makes it so you can fit an 8 foot long piece of wood in your girlfriends VW Golf (Thanks hun).

From Z

Here goes nuthin'!

From Z

I've seen worse.

From Z

And kablam!! She's done. With a few minor shortcuts of course.

From Z

Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone.

From Z

So I picked up a quart of Rustoleum truck bed liner.

From Z

Gnarly stuff. As black as my soul.

From Z

2 coats down and lookin' good!

From Z

Nice textured surface!

From Z

One warning though. This is one product that I WOULD NOT use in an enclosed area.
My garage was wide open the whole time I was using it and I SWEAR I saw an otter run under Emily's car... Probably not smart to operate heavy machinery afterward either.

BOX!

They basically paid me to take it.

Sears in Chelmsford was having a Friends and Family Day sale while this box was on clearance. And on top of that I found an old promo card in the store that said the middle section was free with the purchase of the other two pieces.

$410 retail
$160 beotch
